As great as last year was for me, I want to make 2010 even better. I have so many new opportunities and projects this year that I can hardly stand it! I thought I’d share a few of my 2010 goals with you:
I want to add weddings to my portfolio. I am super excited to be working with phenomenal photographers in Memphis and Dallas on weddings this year. And, I could not be prouder of my new baby, Belle Vie Artistry. If you or anyone you know is planning a wedding in 2010, please give us a call.

I also want to blog more in 2010. In the past, I’ve kept things strictly business around here. This year, I want to open it up a bit and let you see more of life through my eyes.
In keeping with seeing life through my eyes, I resolve to take more photos of my life–my kids, my loves, my experiences. I plan on sharing them with you here.
I’m beyond thrilled to be attending a fabulous workshop in Maryland at the end of March. Some of my favorite photographers are teaching at the workshop, and when I found out about it, I vowed to sell my left leg if necessary to attend. Luckily, I got in. So did several of my photog friends, and I can’t wait to hang out with everyone and soak up as much knowledge and inspiration as possible. Oh, and did I mention this is where we’re staying:

And because I have benefitted from the generosity of other photographers who have unselfishly sharing their knowledge with me, I would like to be able to help at least one other person learn to take good pictures. A little bit of paying if forward is definitely in order.
Once cause that is near and dear to my heart is the work done by the Susan G. Komen Foundation. My grandmother, aunt, and stepmother are all breast cancer survivors. I have been actively involved in the Komen Arkansas Race for the Cure for years. However, this year I am putting together a fundraising effort in October (which is breast cancer awareness month) called Portraits for a Cure. A portion of the fees from every photo session in October will be donated to the Komen Foundation. You get awesome pictures and get to do something good at the same time . . . a win-win for everyone.

So, here’s to great expectations for 2010. Stay tuned . . .
